See, I always knew that, you know, it's very tough, you know, for anyone, you know, to kind of come forward in this country in which we live in. It's very tough, man. Like, we all, you know, if you kind of come from a middle-class background, you know, you know, how much we have worked hard and how much we have faced to reach the place where we are right now. Well-placed, have no issues in our life, have enough to survive, but it has taken a lot. It has taken a lot. I am sad, you know, to see what's happen what has just happened with the NEET exam and now, you know, what has happened with CBSE exams. I still remember like while I I was in my 10th standard, I was expecting around 98, 99% marks and that was back in 2000 I think it was back in 2006, 2005, 2006. And I ended up getting 93% because there was one paper where I was expecting very high marks and it went the best, but I got the lowest marks in that paper. I didn't raise an issue because I thought 93 is itself a decent enough score and but I was shattered that point of time. Now, I feel I should have raised a review. After going through all these news that's coming up, you know, it it is sad, you know, why? For somebody growing up in a small town, in a small house, with all the adversities, you know, the only one thing that motivates those kids is that there is meritocracy still existing. And even if my father is not so rich, is not so influential, if I work hard, I can go places. Has happened in in this country, we see a lot of people, me included. I would have been nowhere if there was no meritocracy in this country. But, are we going in the right direction? Dreams are being shattered. Kids are mean to realize this thing that there is no meritocracy here. Papers are being leaked and and if you take me back to the same point of time where, you know, I was studying or I was kind of facing all this, it would have shattered me, you know, as well. No, that's not how the country can grow. We see all the rich people, wealthy people, you can send your kids to Australia, New Zealand, US to study. I haven't seen a big industrialist, you know, kind of sending their kids to Kendriya Vidyalayas and and other schools to study. They don't even go there. I am yet to see a big industrialist or a big wealthy folk, you know, sending their kids to, say, government college to study. They usually go to the US, they usually go to Australia, they usually go to New Zealand. Yes, that's fine. But what about the masses? We all have come from the same place. We can't forget that. Is it right? No, it's not right. It's not right. That's not how the country grows. Do we want to create a society where only the rich people's kids can think of becoming big? Is this a society that we want to create? And if the answer is yes, then I'm disgusted with this country. I'm seriously disgusted with this country. This is not going to happen. This is not going to happen. If you're rich, if you're wealthy, you can't buy the system. You go outside of this country, but don't let meritocracy go from this country, because if that goes, I'm telling you, there will be so many people who will be killed at the butts. And this is what we are good at in this country. We are good at killing people at their butts. We don't want to, you know, make them rise. We don't want to make them grow. I have been never been so disgusted, frustrated, and angry on a video. But this is not This should not happen. This should not happen. This happened with me. This happened with CBSE. I'm not sure. This might have happened with JEE as well. This This might have been happening with UPSC as well. God damn, stop this corruption at this level. Stop this corruption. Think. Even some of you who would have done that, You came from a very, very, very trivial background. It was just meritocracy which made you succeed. Don't do that. I'm damn against it. I request the government to take relevant steps to stop corruption at this level. Don't let students feel that they can never succeed in this country. Don't let the kids feel since their father and mother are not influential, they can't go forward. Make them feel confident. Make them feel positive. Make them feel that yes, your dreams can be fulfilled. You know what? You know, we call a lot of the other countries like US land of opportunities because you know why? Because people support people who work hard. In this country, taught to be an Indian. If we suppress that, if we don't promote people who are working hard, if we get away from meritocracy, we're never going to grow. We're never going to grow. Let's take steps. Let's Let's unite and make sure that meritocracy is not taken away. Let every kid in this country feel confident about their hard work, about the work that they're doing to to to secure a seat, to crack an exam, to do anything, and make them feel that yes, they can also succeed. They can also do good, no matter whatever is the background.
Original Description
It pains me to see this.
For millions of students from small towns and middle-class families, meritocracy is the one belief that keeps them going—that hard work can change their future.
When that belief is shaken, it's not just an exam that's compromised. It's dreams, aspirations, and trust in the system.
Sharing my thoughts on why protecting meritocracy matters for the future of India. 🇮🇳
