Google's new “generative UI” feature

Google Search is entering the next phase of its AI evolution. During Google I/O 2026, the company showed off a “generative UI” feature arriving in the coming months will help you build custom widgets and apps directly in the search engine. Google’s AI Overviews can now code interactive visualizations, such as a diagram showing how a black hole works, and include them in its response.
