got this question recently asking about like could I go over email stuff and I know it's kind of like a hot topic I don't claim to be like necessarily an email expert but I do have some really cool email marketing tips that I can offer like little template of things I can really like make a solid boost in your emails because it will give you some structure to follow right everything is easier when you got like a template or some sort of like formulaic structure that just like helps you know ok I've written about that I've written about this what comes next and I don't think I'm gonna do something a little risque here I think I'm going to show you the emails that I'm working on today from my latest promo so these are gonna be like rough drafts and I just I just got them pulled up right now so I figure I would just open it up and show you guys what I did and you know let you guys tear it apart if you want you can hate on it these are maybe I'll even write one with you right here right now if you'd like I don't know let me know in the comments that that'd be something you're interested in well maybe you guys can help me write one but I'll kind of explain what I wrote why I wrote it and like there's a very certain element to that I want to explain about email marketing and KPIs key performance indicators so let's let's look at my screen really quick how do I do this I'll make sure I only pull up the correct thing maybe I should save all this other stuff get rid of it alright cool so I've got my lifts pulled up these are called alright now you see my screen so these are my these are my lifts and ads that I'm writing today so I've written well this is lift number two here so a lift is basically just a little email that you send out try to get someone to click to your sales promotion so right now I've gotten one full lift written and I'm kind of got like some ideas for my first face add if I spaced it as a little more image focused and they kind of like appear in the middle of an email and it's like a big picture and it says like a headline they click you now to learn more that's not necessarily it's kind of a form of email marketing cuz it is a space ad that falls within an email but I think what people are looking for is like how - like how copywriters can write email campaigns I think that's more the question that I'm getting asked so here's the one that I just wrote like I'm talking like I was writing this well I got a goal I talked about someone email email arranging for copywriters let me see if I got any questions or anything you is called disrupt intrigue click alright d I see and let's put a little comment out here disrupt well let's just say well mark them as I show them alright so this is the subject line for this email the social media killer what is the social media killer like I feel like that's sort of like a pattern interrupt like what could possibly kill social media I know maybe some people are motivated to kill social media maybe some people don't like it the tired of it they think it steals all their privacy et cetera et cetera we're not fans anymore also I can tell you this is gonna be the headline for my new promo hopefully it does well we're testing it should be testing it on Thursday I don't really giving you much information on it yet and that's because um I kind of wanted it to be like a big surprise I hope it does really well but yeah I think we're testing this just a plain Jane sales page on Thursday so you're getting a first look at the first email that I've written for it so here's what we're gonna try to do I'm gonna disrupt and then I'm gonna intrigue and then I'm gonna get them to click so this is the subject line and you know like a second subject line if you ever get this email from me it usually has like a subject line and then it has like a little a little thing that kind of expands upon that so what we put here is kind of intriguing right like the social media killer what I expect to end Facebook's reign right and that's like okay what does that mean so looking at dear reader I recently uncovered something I am certain will be the biggest story of 2019 according to my research and supported by my connections to the top my connections with the top 1% of investors in the world see this is very wordy right this is my first draft and I can already tell like there's a lot of long words in here starting as soon as next Thursday fast movers could be on the receiving end of a 1.9 million dollar payday and it's all thanks to what I'm referring to as the social media killer but you have to act fast as because as Forbes says the industry carries a if I get an early promise that doesn't come around often click here now to see what I expect to bring Facebook to its knees all right so that's kind of like an intriguing thing and you're just basically getting promised more information I don't really tell you anything about what you're gonna get like I think that's the thing that people try to do that they make a mistake with the purpose of the email is not to sell them on the opportunity the purpose the email is not to convince them to buy anything the purpose of the email is to convince them that they want to know about the opportunity so I think Ben settle is really good I mean everybody knows that Ben settles like one of those really really really talented like email marketers he's like he's like the Guru right there's very few spaces where you have like one guru I think Ben said it was like the one dude like dominates email marketing right he's like the person to look up to and what you'll see is he has a long-form version I would say okay my opinion he kind of has like a great long-form version of disrupt intrigue and click because he knows how to build that intrigue through telling stories a lot of stuff that we do for financial publishing and financial copywriters make homes our email marketing are these sort of short punchy emails that try to get you to the sales page quickly by ramping up your curiosity and then we let the sales page sell you on the opportunity so let's see back to this alright let's see if biggest and bigger a little bit of a echo there okay this is a once in a lifetime opportunity more explosive that's a really good word more explosive than anything I've ever seen before oh man I got on the page so you can have an idea of what it was I wanted to convey there it's not what you say it's what you communicate I knew what I wanted to communicate there but I wanted to write it shorter punchier and more exciting so I know here that I want to put something that I think the audience will think is really exciting and intriguing and I think bringing Facebook to its and knees doesn't newsletter email players so he does a really good job of teasing that curiosity in there too but it kind of is the same formula when you disrupt you know giving like a disrupting sort of like catch their attention like a catchy subject line and then kind of intrigue them with like something doesn't have to be short and punchy like the one I just wrote could be like a long story that doesn't really tell you the how and then offer the how is the reason to click now so that's kind of email marketing in a nutshell let me see if I got any questions coming jared says good stuff Kyle I drink chaperones another great email writer oh yeah I've seen I've seen like he's got these cool sales pages where he does like he does like a single website it's like I forget what he's got a special word for it and they're like seven pages on one website where selling a corn opportunity I think that's him I really like this I love original stuff like that it's very unique and clever I like that that guy is uh if it's who I think it is he's a really smart marketer also let's talk about one other quick oh I have a confession to make I need to make a confession really quick let's see I'll the pull up and share my screen on this this is a little heartbreaking but I went and pulled the research for my sales this is actually my 2018 gross sales I asked our accounting person to pull this for me and I've been guesstimating around eight million and you can see it's not quite a million here 7.1 and I kind of wanted to put that out there because I want to clear the air a air about like what it is because I've always been like guesstimating and I think the reason for the discrepancy the way I understand our reporting systems and how it works and why this might have happened is due to I think I think it's due to batch reporting so the way I think it works and our sales thing is like when someone says they're gonna buy and they fill out the form and they click purchase we register that sale in the system I believe and then it has sales all counted up but what really happens is sometimes like they might have like a credit card company will say hey man did you really mean to do this and they like it might like reject the card and then they have to go back and like rebuy so sometimes the numbers might be inflated or something so I think that would be the reason for the discrepancy I just wanted to be fully transparent with you I don't think it makes a damn to you whether I made seven or eight million dollars I'm basically showing you how to write copywriting for free on a Facebook live so I think you're used to be happy with me either way but I just wanted to be like put that out there and let you know what like what the exact number figure was anyways Sharon says it's
