In this second episode of Expert Talk, we are in conversation with Dr. Vikas Agrawal. In this talk, we dive deep into the 3 decades of experiences of Dr. Vikas Agrawal, Consulting Data Scientist and formerly Senior Principal Data Scientist at Oracle. Join us as Vikas retraces his career-defining milestones within the AI domain, sharing intricate insights from some of his pivotal Data Science projects. We also understand the challenges faced by Vikas due to limited computing resources in the earlier days of his journey and how he countered those. A significant highlight of our conversation is the potential of Quantum Computing in transforming Machine Learning and an intriguing debate on whether Generative AI could make the role of Data Scientists obsolete in the future. Lastly, we touch upon the evolving nature of Data Science business problems and ponder over what the future holds for this dynamic field. Dr. Vikas Agrawal is a Consulting Data Scientist at Oracle. His role is to design, develop, and deploy AI applications in ERP, SCM, HCM, CX, and MFG across Fusion and NetSuite customers. These models need to get automatically generated, selected, and deployed for each customer as their data becomes available, and the models need to keep themselves updated as the world drifts. Vikas is an Electrical Engineer turned Computer Scientist from IIT Delhi, having worked at CalTech, Intel Corporation, and Infosys. Currently, Vikas helps solve first-year Computer Science problems for his daughter and high school Physics and Maths for his son.
