Hi, I'm Liz Mitchell, Google Communications and Training Lead at Trimble, and welcome to AI Boost Bites, where we teach you the skills to supercharge your work with AI. At Trimble, I oversee global Google-related training and content for over 11,000 employees. To reach that many people effectively, we've leaned into AI, achieving a 90% adoption rate across the company. Whether we're using take notes for me in Google Meet or NotebookLM for research, AI is at the heart of how we work. My favorite breakthrough for managing all that content? Using Gemini in Google Docs side panel, along with a custom gem to help me refine our AI training scripts. It's my secret weapon for identifying hidden gaps in our content before they go live. Here's how I ensure our content is comprehensive and on-brand. Step one, challenge the script. Once I have a rough draft of the video script, say a tutorial for Google Ads, I open the Gemini side panel in Google Docs to bring in a neutral perspective. I'll use prompts like, "What is this script missing?" or "Identify logic gaps in these instructions." Because Gemini understands the context of the full document, it can point out technical steps I've skipped or suggest a more engaging way to explain a complex feature, making the script much stronger before we even hit record. Step two, apply the Trimble style guide gem. Finally, I trigger a custom gem I've created specifically for our team. I've preloaded this gem with our official style guide and specific instructions on our preferred tone and formatting. With one click, Gemini reviews the refined script to ensure it aligns with Trimble's voice. It's a meta workflow. I'm using Google AI to help me write better training about Google AI all while staying perfectly on brand. Step three, personal polish and production. I always give the final text a quick review to ensure the flow is just right for our audience. Once I'm satisfied, I take the finished script into Google Vids and use the voiceover feature to generate the audio. This approach has allowed us to deliver high-quality, scalable training across our organization in record time. Ready to get started? Now it's your turn. Thanks for watching.
