Three AI tools, two late nights, one completed trailer. And it was so much fun to make!
Check out how I made this project: https://open.substack.com/pub/albertbozesan/p/nano-banana-pro-the-verdict-for-filmmakers
I’ve stayed quiet on the latest Google release Nano Banana Pro because I wanted to really stress test it in a real project with a high variety of shots. Surprise: it’s very, very good. I planned the shots in my free tool Shotbuddy, then moved on to Freepik: there, every single image in the video was generated with Nano, animated with Kling 2.5 and the dialogue done with Lipsync 2.0 Pro. Thank you Ángela and by extension Joaquin for your generous Creative Partners Program! I didn’t have to boot up ComfyUI at all, despite itching to do so.
I especially loved how easy the title treatment was at the end; no text needed to be fixed, it came straight out of the image model like that!
Because pages and pages of worldbuilding was the starting point of all this, what’s it even about? The majority of people thinks life was easier in the past, but nobody can quite agree on what era. My solution is the “Infinite Hourglass”: We simply divvy up the earth into regions and try to imitate various ideal versions of the past for their citizens! Easy, right?
P.S. For the eagle-eyed among you, there’s a single Veo 3.1 shot in the video. Can you name it in the comments?
