You know that thing in your classroom that drives you crazy every single day?
The stained ceiling tile.
The crooked poster.
The broken chair.
The light bulb that's been out since October.
The pile of stuff that never found a home.
I know it's not always our job to fix these things. In some schools, you may not even be allowed to. But sometimes we spend so much energy being annoyed by a problem that it would be easier to just take care of it.
This isn't really about maintenance. It's about ownership.
What's one thing in your classroom or school that you've been waiting for someone else to fix?
Maybe this summer is the time to stop waiting.
