Spider + caffeine = ? | BBC Ideas
About this lesson
In 1995 Nasa did an unusual experiment on spiders - they gave them different drugs and looked at what happened to their webs. The webs of the spiders given caffeine were all over the place! Humans are not spiders though. And research shows that drinking coffee has lots of health benefits and could help you live longer. It helps with what's known as oxidative stress and is also good for gut health. But to get these positive benefits, you need to drink it in moderation. And you need to ideally drink it black. This short, all about the benefits and pitfalls of coffee, is presented by nutritionist Dr Hazel Wallace. Made in partnership with The Open University by Black Lab Films.
