Los Angelist (Video Archive)

This page was created, in part, to support my defunct YouTube channel about transit in greater LA; Los Angelist.   The channel peaked at 2,440 subscribers or so around Spring 2018. For a variety of reasons beyond my control, I no longer live in LA and lost access to the YouTube channel, so I'm giving all the original content, writing, maps etc.I produced and created as "Los Angelist" away under a CC-4.0-BY license.  The movement appears to have only strengthened since I left, although there seems to be a new obsessive fetishization of fare gates and ticket enforcement I find somewhat repellant, but otherwise, the movement seems strong.   I had hoped to return to it and had several projects in the works that I think would have added to the conversation, but life had other plans for me and it is looking like I won't be coming back.   For all things Los Angelist formerly covered, see the subreddit I started,  r/LAMetro (which has grown considerably and taken on a life of its own)  for the latest on the LA Metro, Metrolink, the Pacific Electric (red cars), LARY (yellow cars), California High Speed Rail and community projects, maps and proposals.   Credit Where Due As far as I know, the striking similarity of the 2018 pride month LA Metro TAP card and the logo and design language (branding) of the channel was entirely coincidental.   That said, people at Metro, likely including some of the leadership since I talked about many of them explicitly and spoke at public meetings, were definitely aware of the channel.   Also I had been very supportive, it came out more or less exactly when the channel was at its peak and it was the first year they did a pride one (and the last one with the rainbow on black ‘dark side of the moon’ look) so I do wonder… However., THE 10 BILLION DOLLAR METROLINK SCORE (Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion) PROGRAM WAS ALL US THOUGH!   That funding may have been appropriated eventually, without our phone call campaign (launched to persuade
