About this lesson

Muireann Nic Corcráin, NStEP Student Associate Intern, describes how her project focusing on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in student engagement led to the development of a new training module Representing Diversity. This training introduces tools and resources that will help class reps effectively represent their diverse classmates and empower fellow students from all backgrounds and lived experiences to get involved in student engagement in decision-making. This training was piloted in February and March of 2021, and will be rolled out more widely for the 2021/22 academic year. NStEP hopes to build further on this work in future to ensure students who may not traditionally engage with student engagement and student partnership practices can become empowered to influence decision-making in their institutions.
