How to give Claude Code a better "memory" of your project

Ian Nuttall · Intermediate ·💻 AI-Assisted Coding ·10mo ago
When Claude Code runs out of context, what do you do? You can use the /compact command to summarize the existing chat but it's actually not very good at capturing the details and you might find Claude seems a bit "dumber" after. In this video I show you a set of custom slash commands I built that will help you to log all of the changes you make with Claude Code into a simple memory system that is so much better than using /compact. To use these yourself, copy the commands and sessions folders from the Github link below into the .claude folder in your project: https://github.com/iannuttall/claude-sessions Follow me X: https://twitter.com/iannnuttall LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/iannuttall/ Email list: https://ian.is --- Like, subscribe, comment, etc if you found this helpful. And even if you didn't. ;)
