[Music] I'm young I'm a product manager for Google compute engine GC so here today we want to showcase some of the exciting products that is available to our customers which can help our customers reduce cost improve efficiency we have three options that we are showcasing today for customers who are looking at reducing cost and improv efficiency for the workloads they're running on GCE um so there's three I'm going to quickly mention then we can uh take each of them first one is our newly announced uh instances vering machines called M4 the second one we're going to touch on is hyperdisk pool the Third one is managed instance groups so let's take a look of our newly announced M4 instances so M4 as you can tell we are using the latest Intel processor is called emerald repits and uh the unique part of about N4 it it has a DRM which is Dynamic Resource Management which is unique technology for Google Cloud this technology gives INF for ability to utilize the resources efficiently therefore the price performance has been the highest amount uh the our virtual machines give customer flexibility performance as well as especially for the uh uh customers looking for lower cost efficiency it was also mentioned that M4 gives customers ability to Define their own machines in additional to predefined machines last but not least customer can also leveraging hyper disk and soul tendency for and for instances now I'm going to jump [Music] to hyperdisk hyper disk is a unique technology unique product offered by gcp where that all these uh hyper dis is an option for our work with our CPUs the virtual machines it really creates a lot higher performance in terms of IO um IOP as well as the throughputs what is exciting I'm going to talk about today is hyperdisk storage pool which allow our customers that to be able to combining the storage capability share among different workloads instead of provisioning each of the workloads separately the advantage with a storage pool is that the different instances will be able to share the same pool therefore customer can reduce amount of stor storage required in combination in the meantime the data storage will be reduced as well so all in all we're looking at anywhere between 30 to 40% cost reduction on the storage usage to support your uh CPU running instances last but not least I also want to talk about our manag the instance groups product where that customers can group different instances by groups and to set different policies in terms of the capacity and uh we will have on the backand managing um the auto healing as well as Auto scaling um balancing load balancing on the back hand to really increase the CPU usage for our customers therefore reduce the cost for overall cost for customers and uh with all these three different products we are very excited we believe we can really help customers reduce cost when they use C GCE virtual instances that to help them to achieve their business goals I'm really excited about all the new products were launching as well as uh looking forward to talk to our customers to learn what they needed to bring new product and capabilities to them in the future [Music]

Original Description

Did you know that customers on Google Cloud can reduce their cloud storage costs by 30%-40%? Join Yang Liu, Product Manager, as she highlights the latest hyperdisk technology to combine storage capability among different workloads with storage pools. Listen along as Yang also mentions Managed Instance Groups where Google Cloud handles the autohealing and autoscaling on the backend so that customers can group different instances with different policies and reduce overall costs. Google Cloud Tech introduces three products to help CIOs reduce cloud costs: M4 instances with Dynamic Resource Management, Hyperdisk storage pools for shared storage, and Managed Instance Groups for autoscaling and load balancing. These products can help customers achieve up to 40% cost reduction on storage usage.

Key Takeaways
  1. Configure M4 instances with Dynamic Resource Management
  2. Implement Hyperdisk storage pools for shared storage
  3. Create Managed Instance Groups for autoscaling and load balancing
  4. Monitor and optimize storage usage
  5. Analyze cost reduction and adjust configurations as needed
💡 Hyperdisk storage pools can help reduce storage costs by up to 40% by allowing multiple instances to share the same storage pool
