F1 + R2D2 🤖 = Dumpster Fire 🔥

Is Max Verstappen getting replaced by C3PO in the next F1 race? Would I really want to watch R2D2 running around Monaco? That's not my idea of a good time. AI has a whole host of good uses, but for my money, stay out of Formula one. The big news this morning is that the first AI racing league is coming to a racetrack sometime near you, potentially the end of this year, maybe the beginning of next year. Now, sure, they might be able to go around turns a little bit tighter. Sure, they might have better control over their vehicles than their human counterparts, but would you honestly want to watch a race between two robots without any backstory, without getting any investment in any human beings involved in the actual race?
