Abstract This part of the tutorial covers two broad topics on differentiable convex optimization layers: 1) we discuss implementation considerations for the forward and backward passes. In the forward pass, this includes the best way of solving batches of optimization problems. In the backwards pass this includes applying the implicit function theorem. 2) We briefly highlight broad applications and directions the community has taken differentiable convex optimization and then specifically discuss two applications in control and differentiable linear classifiers.
