About this lesson

This system is perfect for performance appraisals or day to day use. • Be specific about the feedback they want to give and about why they want to give it. • Explore the situation from the other person's perspective. • Agree on the facts. What is actually happening and why? Focus on the facts, not on the person. • Be courteous and respectful. People are more likely to improve if they feel good about themselves. • Accept counter-feedback. Team members won't focus on performance issues until managers have addressed criticism directed at them.
