I talk a lot about fintech on this channel and the vast majority of questions I get is how do you get in fintech and what is the hot area right now and look if you see this in your everyday life one of the hottest areas right now is artificial intelligence there's only two points I want to make one there's a huge shortage of skilled talented people people that really have the skills to build these systems and work around artificial intelligence and two as a result of that the salaries that these jobs pay are some of the highest in general in finance and look don't be intimidated by the relative complexity of what artificial intelligence sounds this is a baseline for all of us right regardless of the industry coming from or whether you have an experience at all we can all get into this this is still a relatively young field uh that's going to be here for decades to come so what I did is I went through dozens of courses and I want to give you six of my favorites today let's take a look [Music] all right steaks really good courses on artificial intelligence now maybe a couple more points before we get in the details here look some of them are designed for a complete beginner somebody that's really just getting started wants to understand the basic concepts some of these courses are designed for the manager or the executive that just needs to understand how to talk to the engineers for example or leave the transformation in the company they work for and some of them are designed for the hardcore AI algorithmic trading system builders that work in wealth management hedge funds uh trading floors on big investment Banks and look as always I don't waste your time so if you want to just explore the courses at your own pace all the links are below the video first course I want to talk about is the Deep learning specialization offered by the Coursera platform now if you haven't heard about crossthera before one of the leading platforms offering online courses in all sorts of fields now what's interesting about this course is that this is one of the most popular courses on the platform if you stay here at the top it has over 125 000 ratings this is one of the most and highly rated course on the whole Coursera platform so the kind of speaks for itself it's taught by a very engaging experienced Professor so you see that 30 of people who took this course started a new career after completing it and 11 got to pay increase or promotion so this kind of really speaks about this whole new field uh shortage of skilled and experienced people and the higher salaries now this is a fantastic program really that kind of helps you understand the capabilities the challenges the consequences of deep learning prepare you to participate in the development of leading AI technology it has five subsections and the whole specialization uh the first one is neural networks and deep learning second is improving deep neural networks then structuring machine learning projects number four convolutional neural networks and number five sequence models so like I said an amazing course designed and taught by a very engaging experienced Professor gives you that shareable certificate that you can put on your resume that kind of helps you improve the name recognition of what you learned everything's online it takes about five months to complete at a pretty illegally Pace course number two is called AI for Business Leaders and it's offered on the Udacity platform which is another wonderful platform for online courses now this is designed specifically for the executive in mind it really helps you to kind of strategically Implement artificial intelligence in your company there's a lot of practical case studies you really learn to ask the right strategic questions formulate and evaluate proposals around artificial intelligence for the company you work for and look I always say this because this is such a new field and it's really a baseline for all of us trying to implement the artificial intelligence in the companies we work in you can really separate yourself at a very young age and climb a lot faster on that corporate ladder on that imaginary ladder that people climb on but really separate yourself from kind of the traditional management layer that is either too old or too lazy to learn these Concepts now this course specifically evolves around the following areas here at the Paradigm Shift the math behind the magic architectures of AI systems working with data accuracy bias and ethics Gathering feedback thinking bigger and then you have that big Capstone project at the end that kind of really helps you design and Implement a strategy specifically for the company that you work for now again this is all online about four to eight weeks at about five hours per week so this is totally doable on the side of course number three is the supervised machine learning from Stanford this is offered on the Coursera platform but really Stanford a huge boost to your resume if you put this on this just starts opening doors left and right so look this is the third course that I'm talking about here um and we're getting pretty deep here this is one of the most popular courses on uh in the computer science world one of the gateways really to walk through if you're getting into machine learning this is a serious course definitely requires some basic math skills the professor teaching it is a an extremely well known name Stanford like I say obviously a huge Blockbuster name on your resume now this revolves around kind of three parts here the introduction to machine learning regression with multiple input variables and classification but really you learn about a ton of useful things from neural networks bias Theory Innovation processing machine learning parametric algorithms kernels and the list goes on and on so like I said kind of a must take course if you're serious about artificial intelligence uh one of the most popular courses in the whole Computer Science World taught by a real Authority again everything's online shareable certificate takes about 40 hours to complete alright course number four uh we're getting really deeper here this is the professional certificate ticket in computer science for artificial intelligence now what I love a lot about this course is what really two things one is offered on the edx platform now if you don't know the edx platform the edx platform is a joint venture between MIT and Harvard so again we talk about brand recognition the stuff that you put on your resume when you're applying for a job in this field uh it's hard to get any better we talked about Stanford on the previous course we have Harvard here on the edx platform again MIT is kind of associated to this and the other one is really we talked about some of the heavy courses versus the beginner courses this is arguably the best introductory course to get into artificial intelligence and understand the concepts it's using lessons from the Harvard's legendary cs50 course so if you haven't heard about it look at the website really gives you a good robust understanding of computer science and programming machine learning artificial intelligence principles how to design intelligent systems how to use artificial intelligence in Python programs really great value here with an amazing name behind it it's just over 300 so usually getting a great value if this is something that allows you to achieve an open doors and get that new job in a new field this is a great investment and real bang for the money here course number five and finally we're getting in the stuff that I mentioned in the beginning of the video the course is really designed for trading and for using artificial intelligence in the financial markets for trading purposes so here this course is called the machine learning for trading specialization is offered by Google cloud and the New York Institute of Finance so again really big name recognition Behind These courses stuff that you can put on your resume that uh achieves that instant um kind of brand behind what you learned and uh what you can demonstrate uh you have the skills for so here let me just say you know from my experience in Investment Banking these days 70 to 80 of the volume that goes through the stock markets through the the exchanges that's all driven by algorithmic trading right you have hedge funds like bluecrest or Renaissance that run these huge AI driven programs that year in year out have huge returns and this is really what's driving a huge amount of the volume that's being traded so here this course is really for anybody that wants to be a Trader portfolio manager work in wealth management or clearly in the hedge fund industry it has three sections the first one is the introduction to trading machine learning and the Google Cloud platform second is using machine learning in trading and finance and finally reinforcement learning for trading strategies so look this is not a complete kind of a beginner course you need to understand first some of the financial instruments that the course talks about and clearly has some basic math skills but this is um even if you're not into trading or managing your own money or working specifically in these areas if you have a 401k or some kind of a retirement plan that is being invested this touches you as well because most of the trading these days is driven by AI by these algorithms that influence how prices move and this is certainly an area that first of all is very interesting but also it's highly in demand when it comes to people that have these skills and are able to build these systems and finally the last course also focused on trading is artificial intelligence for trading and this is a real nanodegree program the Udacity platform that this is on is famous for these nanodegrees and this is a real serious course that's a bit more heavyweight and it really gives you a very deep understanding of what it takes to build these systems for trading covers some topics from Asset Management to trading second generation you kind of really get to master the artificial intelligence algorithms here um you should know some python here definitely have some math concepts as prerequisites but if you look at this course they're kind of the first three projects are actually really an easy way to build into this course and only then it becomes much more complex the areas that it covers is basic quantitative trading Advanced Quant trading stocks indices and ETFs Factor investing and Alpha research sentiment analysis with natural language processing Advanced natural language processing with deep learning combining multiple signals and then simulating trades with historical data so really just by reading the syllabus of this course you kind of see that this is exactly what it takes to work in finance designing trading systems trading algorithmic systems using artificial intelligence for big hedge funds four banks that are focused on Quant trading some family offices in wealth management this is kind of really the hardcore I'm interested in artificial intelligence in algorithmic trading and I want to work in this type of a field this course is designed exactly for you alright so much for six really good courses on artificial intelligence look like I said in the beginning of the video Don't Be intimidated by this area some of the concepts sound complex complicated but really because this is such a new field there's a baseline for all of us and regardless of where you're coming from if you're working in a different field or if you just graduated and you have no experience at all you can take a couple of courses and start building some kind of a foundation that really gets you in the door opens the door some of these names on these courses have such a huge brand recognition that even if you went to a university or school that really isn't on the target list for a lot of the organizations big Banks hedge funds wealth management companies that hire from these places these courses will help you get these doors opened so let me know if you take a course how you liked it if there's a course that I haven't mentioned that you took and you particularly like to leave it in the comment section please and once again thanks for hanging out today uh give a like to the video subscribe to the channel if you haven't yet and I'll see you soon
