The Bibliographic and Referral Center (BARC), SCRLC’s interlibrary loan service of last resort, is returning! As you may know, BARC had been outsourced for a number of years, and this past summer, SCRLC’s Board of Trustees voted to bring it back in-house after Tompkins Cortland Community College was unable to continue. Since that time, we have been developing procedures, configuring software, and testing. Learning Objectives By the end of this training, participants will understand the following: *How to send a request to BARC. *BARC’s User Guide content. *BARC Guidelines. *How to navigate BARC’s processes and procedures including login to the Clio system, renewing login information when needed, submitting requests to borrow items, how to note when items are received and when items are returned, and printing receipt and return paperwork. *Best practices for shipping and delivery of returned items. *Fees, billing, what to do about lost items. *Medical/health requests.
