Discusses Anthropic's partnership with SpaceX for orbital AI compute capacity

Full Transcript

This is going to sound really weird. Anthropic is trying to bypass terrestrial power. They announced this massive partnership with SpaceX to to access Colossus 1, their their supercomputer. Now, this deal gives them immediate access to over 300 MW of compute, hundreds of thousands of Nvidia AI chips. But, the crazy part about it is they aren't just sharing a data center on Earth. They're teasing future plans to develop these gigawatt, multiple gigawatt of orbital AI compute capacity. Now, right now, the biggest bottleneck in AI is not the money or the talent, it's the physical limitation of local power grids or local zoning laws. And terrestrial data centers, they take years to build, require massive energy approvals. So, they just signaled that their next regulatory and energy frontier is space. And if they're what they're looking is to build infrastructure where city councils, local power grids, they just cancel them down anymore. We covered this fully in our newsletter tomorrow. Check it out.
