[Music] There's this beautiful Lucy Shaw quote. The poet's job is to [Music] notice. Poetry camera is a camera that writes poems of what it sees. And it's a new sort of toy for creative experimentation that invites you to see the world around you in a new light. You press the button and it scans the image for salient details. And then it passes on those details to the large language model just claude to write a poem based on that. Wooden steps creek beneath terracotta dreams while spring. You're able to find new beauty, new interpretations, new ideas from what the camera creates. It's not photography. It's not poetry. It's this new third thing. A lot of what's going to be happening with AI is this creation of new hybrid disciplines. I really see it as a selfexpression magnifier. If you're not putting your own soul into the work and if other people can't see that, then what's the point? So much about the world is telling you you got to move faster. And it's really nice to have something that actually invites you to slow down and appreciate everything that's already around you. [Music]

Original Description

The Poetry Camera project demonstrates how AI can be used to create new forms of art by combining image recognition and poetry generation. This project invites users to slow down and appreciate the world around them, and can be seen as a self-expression magnifier. By using a large language model like Claude, users can generate poems based on images and find new beauty and interpretations.

Key Takeaways
  1. Build a custom camera that can capture images and pass them to a large language model
  2. Design effective prompts for the LLM to generate poems based on the images
  3. Experiment with different images and prompts to generate unique poems
  4. Use the Poetry Camera as a tool for creative experimentation and self-expression
  5. Slow down and appreciate the world around you through the lens of the Poetry Camera
💡 The Poetry Camera project shows how AI can be used to create new hybrid disciplines that combine different forms of art and technology, and how this can lead to new forms of self-expression and creativity.
