$252MM valuation for GH Copilot rival?

$252 million in your bank account. If you're the CEO of Augment, the latest GitHub copilot rival, your bank account's looking pretty thicc right now. On this beautiful Friday, all anyone can talk about is augment yet another Silicon Valley stealth mode startup that has exited stealth mode and has blasted onto the scene with an incredible valuation. They have their sights set on dethroning GitHub Copilot as the current reigning champion of AI assisted code completions. Now if you're like me and you've been developing for a very, very long time, you're thinking to yourself, isn't intellisense already an AI assisted code completion tool? And doesn't it work really, really well? Why do we need yet another one of these things? And you know what? I absolutely agree with you. I've used GitHub copilot. I was not impressed. I personally found that intellisense does a really good job and and it has two benefits. One, it's free, well minus the MSD and license, but also it runs on the device. So I'm sure that the company's intellectual property that I'm working on isn't going to be exfiltrated out somewhere on the www. They more than likely have been trained on code that was licensed not for that particular use case, and you cannot reuse it in that scenario.
