# The Invisible Developer Problem: Why Good Coders Still Get Ignored

[#career](https://dev.to/t/career)

Some developers are genuinely good at their job and still get overlooked.

Not because they lack skill.

Not because they are lazy.

Not because they do bad work.

They get ignored because they are invisible.

I have seen this pattern over and over:

* solid engineer
* reliable output
* few mistakes
* no real career momentum

Meanwhile, someone slightly less technical keeps getting better projects, more trust, and more opportunities.

That feels unfair until you notice what is actually happening.
