Opinions Needed

Hi everyone! I have a question on behalf of my best friend who is looking to learn programming or to go to school for programming. Is there anything that she should know beforehand as a prerequisite skill? Is it worth it to go to school for programming in your opinion? I am sorry if this is not the correct place to be posting something like this, but she doesn’t have Reddit and I am trying to help her make informed decisions :) Thank you!</p
