Ionic: Fab Button/Button List

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to be able to press the screen behind the actual fab list or fab button, as in literally any other clickable area other than the buttons in the list or the main. And I want to function the same as if I clicked the main fab button again closing the list and going back to the original state. It has only introduced problems, has anyone been able to do this?
