While working on a full-stack app that stores files in AWS S3, I asked my coding agent to help design a setup with three environments: development (local), staging, and production.

For development, I didn’t want to use S3. I wanted everything stored locally. During the brainstorming phase, the agent suggested using MinIO as a Docker container — a solid choice.

But when I executed the implementation plan, something was off.

The agent installed an old version of MinIO from 2024. That version had bugs and didn’t play nicely with other parts of the stack, which forced me into unnecessary workarounds.

So I checked the latest release myself and asked the agent to look at the current documentation. Once it did that, it updated the version — and the problems disappeared.
