HID Macros - "Scripted" code to trigger shift key?

I've been using HID Macros to set up my editing keyboard, and everything is working well, but I'm stuck on the "Shift" key. I know that I can't use "Predefined" to specify the Shift key, but I'm pretty sure I can write a "Scripted" code that will do that - I'm just not sure how.
