Building a Printer Auditing Tool as IT Support – Is It Possible?

Hi, I work as “IT Support” (even though I don’t feel like I do much actual IT 😅). I have some free time and I’d like to build a program—yes, I know companies like HP already have solutions, but I want to do it myself. Basically, I want to audit printers: track how many pages are printed per month, gather usage data, etc. Is it possible to extract this kind of information from printers and build a custom program to manage it? su
