AI is not reducing the need for software engineering discipline.

It is exposing who had any in the first place.

That was the core argument in my latest LinkedIn post. This is the longer version.

Because once you work with AI seriously, the bottleneck becomes obvious.

Writing code was never the hard part.

The hard part is understanding what already exists, why it exists, what failed last time, what constraints are real, how the change should be verified, and what the next person or next task should not have to rediscover.
